Between October 27 and 31, Brocsoft took part in an official business mission to Washington D.C., organized by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) and led by Uruguay’s Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mining, Fernanda Cardona. The initiative brought together government representatives, public institutions, and more than 30 technology companies to strengthen ties with the United States: the main export destination for Uruguay’s digital services.

The mission aimed to reinforce Uruguay’s image as a hub for high-value digital solutions, promote innovation-driven collaboration, and open new opportunities for business and investment. Over five days, the delegation met with leading organizations such as Amazon Web Services, Council of Americas, Station DC, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank, among others.

These meetings provided insight into the latest trends in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, while also highlighting Uruguay’s role as a reliable partner in the global tech landscape. Sessions with Arlington Economic Development and Loudoun County Economic Development highlighted the innovation ecosystems driving growth and how Uruguayan companies can connect with them to expand their reach in the U.S. market.

For Brocsoft, the mission represented a key moment to deepen relationships with U.S. organizations and explore new pathways for collaboration. As a company that helps U.S. firms scale their engineering capacity through nearshore development, Brocsoft’s participation aligned closely with the mission’s objectives, bridging talent, technology, and opportunity across borders.

Álvaro López, Brocsoft’s founder and CEO, said: “This experience reaffirmed the global competitiveness of Uruguayan tech. We see a growing interest in nearshore models that combine agility, quality and trust: three values that define Brocsoft’s work”.

Beyond the institutional meetings, the mission also strengthened the network among participating companies, encouraging collaboration within Uruguay’s own tech ecosystem. CUTI emphasized that these collective efforts are essential to positioning Uruguay as a strategic hub for technology and innovation in Latin America.

The mission served as another step in Brocsoft’s ongoing work to connect Uruguay’s tech capabilities with U.S. demand, strengthening the bridges that support sustainable growth and technological innovation.
